The Opportunity

Reporting to the Regional Sales Manager, Sports Medicine you will be responsible and accountable for business growth within the defined territory by maximising sales of Smith & Nephew Sports Medicine products and brands through regular contact with the target customer base.

The Key Focus Areas of the Role

  • Responsibility for achieving and exceeding sales budget for assigned state Sports Medicine territory and meeting Key Performance Indicators as set by Area Sales Manager.
  • Ensure the annual product portfolio sales targets are achieved in assigned territory.
  • Provide input to the State Sales Manager on the determination of the annual sales budget and strategy for your assigned territory.
  • Develop and manage short and long-term account strategies that support S+N SPM strategies and objectives.
  • Implement and maintain an account management process that includes account assessment, account prioritisation, strategy development and execution, and regular account reviews with the Area Sales Manager.
  • Create accurate sales forecasts and provide timely monthly reporting to the Area Sales Manager on the actual to forecast.
  • Actively monitor market trends including competitor activities and work out relevant strategies with the Regional Sales Manager to mitigate risks to achievement of sales forecast
  • Influence, coach and support the clinical support members in providing exceptional case support and training.
  • Adopt a continuous improvement approach to all work processes, by utilizing sales automation tools to improve workflow, time management & communication

The Requirements Of The Successful Candidate

  • Tertiary qualifications in Business or Science related disciplines
  • Proven experience in Sports Medicine and/or endoscopy clinical support or exceptional sales experience in related medical devices
  • Strong selling skills
  • Strong understanding of Sports Medicine products and industry
  • Good understanding of the Australian public and private healthcare system
  • Computer proficiency in MS Office
  • Ability to interpret financial and clinical data
  • Highly focused on exceeding customer expectations
  • Ability to follow sales plans and to expand the use of products and service within the assigned territory
  • Takes initiative to set and achieve challenging work goals; maintains high work standards at all times
