Hume City Council is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic sports administration professional to join our Leisure Centres & Sport Department in the position of Sports Development and Inclusion Officer.

The position will be responsible for:

  • Developing, implementing and promoting strategies and programs to increase active sports opportunities and participation for Hume residents including culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities and residents with a disability.
  • Developing new, inclusive and sustainable sports clubs & associations in Hume.
  • Assisting sports clubs in building capacity for effective governance, sustainable management, volunteer recruitment and strategic promotion.
  • Identifying existing and emerging participation trends and issues to inform municipal sports planning.

Key Skills:

  • Tertiary qualifications in sport and recreation or a related field, with some experience in sport and recreation OR substantial experience in sport and recreation with lesser formal qualifications.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and customer service skills are essential.
