Wilson Park Primary School (PS) is seeking a Teacher - Primary – Health and Physical Education – Science to join their team.

The successful applicant will be highly motivated, innovative and enthusiastic in the promotion of Physical Education and Health and Science within the school and will be responsible for the coordination and organisation of all school sporting events. The successful applicant will be well organised, motivated and committed to developing positive relationships and high expectations for all students. They will desirably possess knowledge and competencies in the Science, Physical and Health Education component of the Western Australian Curriculum and reporting schedule. This role includes teaching students from Year 1 to Year 6 and working collaboratively with Kindergarten/Pre-Primary staff to provide an effective fundamental movement skills program.

We have a comprehensive focus on literacy and numeracy, with highly structured, research-based literacy and numeracy blocks designed to provide students with the maximum support. The integration of technology allows the students to control elements of their own learning and widens their access to information. Many of the software programs are available for students to work on at home. The school also has specialist visual arts and music classes.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position. 

To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):

  • Professional knowledge;
  • Professional practice; and
  • Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY

Employees will be required to:

TRAINING

Employees will be required to:

  • complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
  • complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
