Mindarie Senior College (SC) is seeking to establish a pool of dedicated Physical Education and Health Teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2021 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2021 school year.
There is currently at least 1 position available to start in January 2021.
As a valuable member of the teaching staff, suitable applicants will be responsible for the educational outcomes of the school's Physical Education curriculum. We are seeking applicants who have the skills to build positive, caring relationships with students. It is highly desirable for applicants to have a bus license, open water qualification, roping, mountain biking and kayaking qualifications and experience. The ability to teach Upper School Health is also highly desirable.
As a Health and Physical Education teacher you will participate as an integral member of the HPE learning area and be responsible for supporting the collaborative approach to curriculum planning, providing learning programs to students suited to the needs of the school community and modelling exemplary teaching and learning strategies in your delivery. As such, suitable applicants will possess a repertoire of teaching strategies to engage students, ideally having knowledge of and experience in, a range of instructional strategies and tactics.
Suitable applicants will also be dedicated and highly motivated educators with an excellent knowledge of the Senior School Western Australian Curriculum, be able to deliver content in an engaging manner and be a highly effective team member. As a reflective practitioner, suitable applicants will possess effective data literacy and a capacity to modify their practice to meet identified student needs. The capacity to engage in the development and implementation of innovative classroom practices, including integration of information technology into the curriculum, is ideal. Pastoral care also remains a highly desirable aspect of the role.
