Commitment to Child Safety

Role Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified teacher to join our team. We are looking for a highly skilled practitioner with a sound knowledge of the Health and PE Curriculum to join our team and engage children in this element of the curriculum, coordinate offsite PE events and be an advocate for PE within the school community. The successful applicant must:

  • be faith filled with a strong commitment to the Catholic ethos of the school and to the spiritual, emotional, social and educational wellbeing of all students
  • show exemplary learning and teaching skills with the capacity to engage students in a rich learning environment and a desire to share this knowledge in a professional, collaborative and collegial way
  • have strong interpersonal and communication skills with the capacity to continue to build effective relationships with students, staff and parents
  • have exemplary behaviour management practices
  • enjoy working with a diverse group of students from a range of backgrounds and have a repertoire of strategies to engage them in highly effective learning activities
  • have a thorough knowledge of assessment strategies, be adept at analysing these and use this data effectively
  • have a rigorous understanding of contemporary learning and the Health and PE Curriculum
  • be organised and have the ability to coordinate whole school events such as the swimming program and school sports and manage the ordering of resources and management of a budget to achieve these
  • be available to be a member of the Melton Primary School Sports Association in 2021 and attend these meetings.

Special Requirements

The successful applicant needs to:

  • be eager to embrace the Catholic ethos of our school
  • be an experienced classroom teacher
  • be accredited to teach Religious Education in a Catholic school
  • be committed to child safety, to maintaining best practices to ensure this and to ongoing evaluation of these practices
  • have read and be committed to maintaining the standards as set out in our Child Safe Code of Conduct
  • have read, and be aware of, the attached statement on the 'Principles Regarding Catholic Education' and our Privacy statement
  • hold a valid VIT registration
